What About the Loser?
"Okay Swampert, let's do this! Waterfall!"
The water Pokémon became engulfed in water and charged towards it's opponent.
"Blaziken, sidestep and hit it with Double Kick."
The towering blaze Pokémon stepped smartly out of the way, then smashed the Swampert with it's feet. Swampert crashed into the dirt, shaken slightly by the attack.
From no where, a huge wave appeared above Swampert, who disappeared into it.
"Blaziken, jump high!"
Blaziken launched itself into the air, dodging the wave, then came slamming towards the ground with a powerful Brave Bird attack.
"Swampert!" The trainer only managed to call his Pokémon's name before it was hit. Smoke rose from the impact, and the two Pokémon
The dust settled, and the battles fate was sealed - Swampert was out cold.
The crowd roared with excitement, cheering the winner. Quickly returning his Swampert, the loser ran off the field.
He pushed his way through the crowd, ignoring all the reporters asking him questions like:
"Barry, how does it feel to lose to your old rival in such an important battle?" and "Could you give us an interview for our upcoming program about the losers of Pokémon Finals?"
He made it to the edge of the city, still not believing he lost. Then he heard a voice, the voice of someone he didn't expect.
"Too bad eh Barry? You put up a good battle, shame about the end."
"Lucas! What are you doing out here! I thought you left for Johto a few weeks ago?"
"Hah. Is that what Brendan told you?"
"I nearly did, but then I heard you had made it to the finals, so I hurried over."
"Oh right. Cool. Where do you suppose Brendan is now?"
"If I know him, he'll be basking in all the glory, but I wouldn't worry about him right now."
Lucas sat down on the bench next to Barry. Barry noticed the flash on his finger, then asked:
"She's fine, she had to stay behind to look after the kids. They probably watched it on TV."
"Right. I'll never be able to show my face to her again then," Barry said, putting his head in his hands.
"Wrong again Barry, she asked me to bring you over to ours after the battle."
"Forget it, I'm a failure." At this, Barry stood up and walked off into the woods.
If you like it, I'll post more. There won't be as much talking next time.
