Its no surprise that no matter how good you are as a gym leader, in this meta game there will always be pokemon that counters you. After speaking with the admins we are planning to create a ban list, where a gym leader is allow to have 3 pokemon ban (stealth rocks also counts as one ban). A challenger cannot use those pokemon that are on the ban list. This is because we want to prevent the challenger from having too much of an advantage over the GL. Before this could go into the rulebook we want to hear what everyone thinks of this. Please note that this will only apply to single battles, were still considering if double battles should be allow or not.

Well, i think that for Gyms that use weather, should be one of the 2: or banning weathers inducers ,or banning the 3 pokes, if it is like that, I agree, AND in general for no weather users gyms, they should have the 3 banns.

Yes Allen, I want this game the more balanced as posible, and well, it is unfar having to many advantage for the 2 sides, GL and challenger, so I found like and huge advantage the weather, you know it Allen, weather as you want helps a lot

I know I am going to be digging old traditional forum gym rules, but banning 3 pokemon along with the already "No more than 2 super effective on your team" I think its becoming to imbalance favoring the gym leader.

I do understand that this Forum wants to make it as challenging as possible for the challengers to face the leaders, however people will grow to distaste of the amount of rules they have to face. As a former League Administrator, having too many rules ended up having too many disputes or private messages complaining about how its too "Restricting".

I developed in Solaris Dual Type Gyms, and removed the type restriction rules as it gave leaders a better variety of strategies and tactics that made the battles much more harder.

Those are my two cents.

I just want to keep it fair between both sides. From what I see GL are at a very disadvantage here because:

-Stealth rocks rapes flying/ice/fire/bug gyms the spinners are useless so most of the time the rocks stays. those types loses a quarter of their health every switch.
-Because GL are force to play monotype certain pokes can give them problems. Scizor > rocks/ice gyms. Wevile/+1 dragon dance ttar > ghost gyms.

Lets look at this another way, what advantage does the GL have? Super Effective clause?

The problem with that is supereffective mainly focus on offense, defense can also be a big threat to gym leaders as well. Fx: Poison/psychics gyms will get owned by steels. Grass gyms will get counter by dragons, if they run hp ice on grass to counter dragons then steel walls them. There are a few more but ill just keep it to myself because I dont want gym leaders to have any more disadvantage.

There no way a GL can have any advantage against the challenger even with the ban list. These sets of rules are kinda broken mainly because gym leaders are playing with a major disadvantage. Like surge said maybe we could try a dual type gym?


And firepoi ever heard of weather wars? Beside weather is not centralizing the metagame, AK and I both have pretty good weatherless teams. And if I hear anything about hail being a threat again, Im gonna flip my shit.

LOLOL Dual Gyms are cool but i like the mono type gyms more only because they are more realistic. and yeah the ban list i can see helping us gym leaders but at the same time i think the pokemon being banned should be approved first.

i think the gyms and e4 should be allowed one wildcard as mono teams are fun but sometimes finding a good counter to common threats is hard and ingame gym leaders have had wild cards such as volkner and his ambipom or aaron of the elite4 and his drapion so itd make the battles a bit more challenging and you could even say those with a wildcard only get 2 bans and those who opt not to still get 3

if they ban wether can the gym leader use weather or if they ban rocks or spikes can they use it cause if so then thats a huge dissadvantage for the challenger

And it's not SUPPOSED to be easy to beat the GLs. I say this

no more then 2 supereffects, and one pokemon ban or one weather ban or moveban, whatever.

And the gym leader has to follow these rules too. But here's the thing, some gym types only have 1 supereffective against it anyway, so think of it like this.

The lunch special at Sheri's o3o

You can pick three. instead of pie/sandwhich/soup/salad or whatever it is. You can do Supereffective/move(counts towards weather too)/Pokemon/-enter thing here-.


Again, gym leader still has to follow the rules he set for himself.




Either that or just keep it the same. I'm not used to wifi battling, and I'm not even sure what 90% of the rules mean as it is, geez I'm not even sure who's banned who's uber, whatnot. And having to learn like 5 more rules, plus different rules per gym, I think I'd explode.

Gym leaders already can ban whatever items they want so that shouldn't count as one of the bans.

The only moves that should be allowed to be banned are toxic spikes or stealth rocks since a fire or flying gym would be toast against stealth rocks alone for example. Weather should not be able to be banned.

The 3 pokemon ban part seems reasonable enough. However, I do think the pokemon they want to ban should have to be approved

Politoed cuz you got one of the best type in the game. Ice beam destroy grass and ludicolo surf in the rain wrecks all electrics. I guess that why nintendo decides to make ferrothorn =D
