PostSubject: Elec gym TRYOUT team   Fri Jan 03, 2014 11:42 am

i plan on trying out for the gym spot, so i might as well get as much help on this as possible.

Galvantula (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Compound Eyes
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Bug Buzz
- Charge Beam
- Sticky Web
my lead, i notice most people go for thunder, but i wanted to try a charge beam set up (Big Buzz being the primary STAB)

Rotom-Wash @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Calm Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Rest
- Will-O-Wisp
My annoyer pokemon (because acording to those who have lost on showdown, nothing is more annoying than having Rotom rest off all that damage and status)

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Calm Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Thunderbolt
- Toxic
- Defog
Stall Zapdos (supposed to have heat wave!)

Manectric @ Manectite
Ability: Static
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Flamethrower
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Thunder Wave
- Electro Ball
my mega of choice, t wave electo ball sounds weird, but think of how electro ball works (paralyze speed cut factors in!)

Electivire @ Life Orb
Ability: Motor Drive
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Cross Chop
- Earthquake
- Wild Charge
- Ice Punch
Life Orb physical sweeper, not much too it.

Lanturn @ Leftovers
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Heal Bell
- Thunderbolt
- Thunder Wave
- Scald
my tank and support, t wave and scald for status moves (scald also gets STAB) and heal bell after it switches in.

Erm I don't really like your team, but give manectric lightingrod..

I dunno what it is about your team but, maybe its just me but it seems you don't really cover you weaknesses very well, and god forbid you run into a volt absorbing/lightingrod pokemon with all you electric moves, would be pretty difficult and only one earth move..

lanturn and rotom are redundant. Both would be hurt badly by excadrill so try rotom-c since its hit neutrally by all of its moves and can WoW it or hit it with leaf storm even though it probably wont ohko it.

Charge beam on garvantula is bad with that set because its frail and your using sticky web. To add to that, you are using volt switch, making the turns you set up kinda pointless.

For zapdos, even though defog can help you alittle, it also removes your sticky web so remember that. Also since sticky web is out, there isnt all that much use for t wave since they are already slowed down and you could use the turn attacking.

Electro ball might seem cool on a fast pokemon like mega manetric but that speed isnt as fast as it used to be and it cant hold a scarf to make itself even faster. So might as well go tbolt.

Lanturn should got water absorb since no one is going use electric movs on an electric team and you have electrivire if they do Razz

well thats all for now. good luck!

dragon/electric is a great typing so yea you can try amphy. Manetric is one of the "worse" of megas since it really didnt gain anything besides speed and some sp atk.

Because it hits really hard after a nasty plot boost, killing all that doesnt resist it. It also has its agility set but nasty plot would be better because of sticky web.
